Selkies' Skins, Chapter 23 part one is live

Section two of Selkies' Skins is progressing nicely. Since this weekend will be busy for me (this whole week has been busy, today most of all) I made this period's installment available a few days early.

In installment 40 of the serial we begin Chapter 23, Pay Better Attention Kirsty. But what is happening that our young half-selkie should be paying attention to? When does she get to go back to the sea? You'll have to read to find out.

After the title hits Smashwords readers can also order direct if they prefer.

Description:

Tarot, Kabbalah, Christianity, Shinto, Buddhism, Taoism, Metaphysics, Psychology, Philosophy, Alchemy... What do these have in common?

More than you might think at first.

Ayam Yogi Abraxas shares the fruits of his studies and how to practically apply these in daily life. More than just an introduction, there is something for all levels of understanding here. Even someone unfamiliar with these will have a better understanding of their own thoughts.

This book explores teachings from the Bible, the Torah, Taoism, Shinto, Kabbalah, Hindu mythology, Buddhism and several other philosophies, as well as the author's own experiences. Part practical and part esoteric this treatise is both lighthearted and serious, encapsulating the yin and the yang, and the Oneness of All.

Meet the Ayam and the Maya in you.

AyaMayA's second physical proof run, and comparison pictures

AyaMayA's second physical proof arrived today. The cover prints the way I had wanted now, including those great faux corner protectors and the correction of the misspelled spine. The subheadings in the Tarot chapter work a lot better now as well, and the internal images are clearer. I think that it is a much more appealing book visually now. I also tightened up the line space just a little bit. Those three issues were the only thing holding the book up after the first physical proof was received from the printer. In other words, all I have to do is click "the button" and things are ready to roll.

Physical Proof #1

Minor changes make a big difference, which is why the physical part of the proofing process is important. For example, the spine of the first book proof had a typo on it that did not register until I had it actually in my hands. The week that the full cover went on I was having problems with the computer, with time, and with seeing very different things than was actually in front of me (due to stress, diet, and sleep deprivation). Something else to note is that for the second proof on the spine, the logo was actually centered, but does not look so on the physical copy.

The faux corner protectors might not be something that some people would be so concerned about preserving, but they give the book more of a unique feel in my opinion, so I really wanted to make sure that they printed after all the work that Marantha had done on the front cover.

AyaMayA! Almost time!

Be watching in the next few days for the chance to order before the official launch of AyaMayA. The links will be available soon.

To start with we will have the print version of the book available on Amazon and directly from Createspace. AyaMayA will also be taking advantage of the opportunity to spend time in the Kindle Select Program, which will enable the ability to run some free promotional days for the start, as well as enabling lending. Once the time is spent in Kindle Select AyaMayA's ebook edition will also make apparance in Smashwords to be distributed to ebook outlets in other formats than Kindle (say hello to the Nook, PDF, and additional formats at that time).

I am estimating to have these ready and the pages live in time for May 1st (Beltaine to some folks, May Day to others).

Mr Abraxas, Marantha D. Jennelle and I all very much hope that you will enjoy his first book comparing various religions and the practical applications of the core spirituality. From psychology to metaphysics through the Bible and Kabbalah, to "Eastern" religions and more this... book dealt with a lot more than I first expected when I first opened his query letter.

Please remember to leave a review or some stars for the author after reading. Amazon, Goodreads, Smashwords, or anywhere else that you pick up your copy.
