Minor changes make a big difference, which is why the physical part of the proofing process is important. For example, the spine of the first book proof had a typo on it that did not register until I had it actually in my hands. The week that the full cover went on I was having problems with the computer, with time, and with seeing very different things than was actually in front of me (due to stress, diet, and sleep deprivation). Something else to note is that for the second proof on the spine, the logo was actually centered, but does not look so on the physical copy.
The faux corner protectors might not be something that some people would be so concerned about preserving, but they give the book more of a unique feel in my opinion, so I really wanted to make sure that they printed after all the work that Marantha had done on the front cover.
