New Title in Progress: Mend This Heart

We are pleased to announce that we will be publishing Stephen Disney's first poetry book, entitled "Mend This Heart."  We hope to be ready to release it later this year, the release date has not, as of yet, been set.

"Mend This Heart" is a chapbook length collection that will carry you through the highs and lows of life, and is guaranteed to be an eye opener!

New Editor Needs Work - Signal Boost Please

I just got off the phone with my editor, and I've got some bad news.  Her funding she has been living on will run out soon, and she now has to apply and begin the fight for getting SSI (Social Security Income).  She can work, if it's brain work, but only if so... physical labor is out of the question.

What she is specifically interested in is proofreading, spell checking, as well as editing, she does it all.  I'm VERY happy with how she helped me with "Dragon Shaman 2: The Smoky Mirror."  She feels strongest and is most interested in ready fantasy novels, science fiction, and poetry.  Romance history is also something she wouldn't mind editing.  Basically, anything that you have that needs an editor, she's open to.  She's most open to manuscripts 500-800 pages, but again... anything that's out there, she's up for.

She's also willing to edit a book for free if you are happy with her work and another customer comes to her using you as a referral.  She has no net presence as of yet (we are working on that), other than myself... and living two towns over and over the mountain (literally) she doesn't come to my place often.  She does have a computer though, so she can take files or hardcopies through the mail and get them back to you via that route in the meantime.

You can contact her directly to work out rates at

Yes, I have permission to share contact info.

Looking into the going rates for freelance editing, she is definitely willing to charge far less than prices I'm finding.  She isn't out to empty your wallet...  And seeing that some editors would have charged me $1000 to go through my manuscript, I nearly fell off my perch.  So I've definitely been lucky to have her.

Please pass the word along to anyone that you know that is looking for editing and proofreading... whether your kid in college, a friend you know working on a book, or anyone else.  And if anyone knows of any openings in publishing firms for editing, let me know so I can pass on the info (or you could give her a call).  Linkbacks are welcome and encouraged.  She really needs the help.

New Release: Dragon Shaman 2

I'd like to announce that Dragon Shaman, Book 2: The Smoky Mirror is released and available for both personal order and shop stock orders! Place your orders direct to our printer, or email in your order. You will then receive an invoice for the cost of your order and shipping. For this purpose, please be sure to include your shipping address and country so that shipping can be calculated. Orders placed to the publisher by email, in person, or via post to us will not be shipped until payment is received.

Larger orders actually bring you savings, as the price per book goes down slightly with larger runs, and I am able to pass the savings on to you. No order will be turned down though, and Paypal is accepted, as are checks, cashier checks, and money orders. Cash is accepted from locals or if well hidden, but I really discourage sending cash through the mail (but certainly won't turn it down, just be aware it could be stolen in transit).

Overseas orders, please note, you will be responsible for any import duties. Please be ready.

Editor Note:

If your interests lean toward spiritual topics, Native American culture, Asian culture, Pagan History, Geography, time-travel, and adventure with a touch of love story, this book is for you!

The Author's sensitivity to human nature, and especially the spiritual realm, makes her characters seem so real, they come alive in her book.

A tale of Legendary quality. The deeper in the plot you go, the more it feels like this could be history. A story so rich, it's torture to wait for the next one.

A definite can't put it down book. You must get your paws on this one!

Lovingly,
Faith C-M Lindgren

Further News:

Dragon Shaman, Book 3: The Forge and the Well, is currently being written. At this point, it is unknown when it will be finished and ready for release, so be sure to check back for updates.

A non-fiction book on dragon magic, to hopefully contain information from a purely human point of view as well as from the view of dragon-kin, is also currently in production. Essays will be accepted for inclusion. Those interested should use the above email and use the subject "Dragon Magic submission proposal." You will keep copy rights to your work, as we ask for non-exclusive use, meaning that you can go on to submit and publish your essay in other places as well. Compensation will be $10 US to those whose work is accepted for inclusion, plus a percentage of any generated royalties from sales.

A calendar is also expected to be released in time for 2010, please stay tuned for further news.

Still moving along

Faith is currently looking over the proof copy of the book, and then I will go over it one final time as well. Meanwhile, there is slow progress on book three of the Dragon Shaman series, as lately there is less writing time than there had been several years ago.

Proof Ordered: Dragon Shaman 2

Dragon Shaman Two has been uploaded to the printing company, and the proof has been ordered for final review. Depending on if everything prints as expected, then the release will come shortly.

Here is the front cover for the project, done by Victoria Davis! I think she caught Ryu in a very good light. Stay tuned for an announcement of when the release date will be, and be ready to look for it on the shelves or order it from your local bookstore.

ISBN 13 is 978-0-9788028-3-7

Dragon Shaman 2 progress update

Yesterday I got news from my editor that she has finished reading the rough manuscript for Dragon Shaman 2: The Smoky Mirror. She was very excited and pleased with it. So the project continues, as I must now go through and make the suggested revisions, and then submit it back to her for another check before I can release this to the public.

It's a project that I am very glad to see coming to it's close, as I it will be circulating Faith's editing skills and Victoria's cover art. I am also looking forward to getting started on the next project, and adjusting the deadlines projected for the next books. This is all very much a learning experience for me. I must balance my own writing, my family life, and eventually a day job. I also find a way to make time for eventually including other authors when I find someone with a project that will fit in with my visions for this publishing enterprise. There is also the RPG administration that I do for Rowan Wookie's "Dragon Hearts" Project.

I also greatly look forward to starting on the next book, and I have not yet decided if I will be following Marie O'Drake/MountainChild's adventures, or if I will be focusing on Jewel O'Drake's thread in the tapestry. Marcella O'Drake will also have to have her own spotlight as we work toward the events that will eventually break the family curse and reveal more of the family history... as well as a few twists that I have in store for my characters.

In other news, I (Teresa Garcia) have submitted an essay to Immanion and editor Brandy Williams for their upcoming anthology "Women's Voices in Magic." There are also other side projects that I plan to do which are not going through StarDragon Publishing.
