Obituary: Crim Mip, A Dreamweaver of the Dreaming Twilight.

I wanted to give the SL Newser time to publish Crim's official Obituary but with how things are going I need to upload it before I am further carried away with preparations for his private and his public memorial service. The SL Newser, run by our friend Bixyl Shuftan, has at least already published preliminary reports.

---

Crim Mip, known in the real world as Karl Meyer, was a person whose ripples extended to many ponds. From the Memphis Furmeet, the MLP community (Trotsdale, Nisa, Ibex Empire, etc), the spiritual and Pagan community (Arashiryuu Yashiro, Practicing Magic for a time, and others), the SL boating and aeronautics communities… and others I probably don’t know of as he was very active.

I first met him in Nisa while exploring, seeking my home in the Second Life’s MLP community. There I met many others in a heavily mythologically influenced sim. The Nisean sim grouping, with Crim Mip as one of the several co-owners, grew to a landmass of Nisa, Thessalia, Exmoor, The Ibex Empire (aka Ibexia), Los Qwhilla, Qwhildrasil, and many other locations of the rp world. For a time this landmass resided north of – and joined to – Trotsdale. Later, Trotsdale eventually moved to join Neighberry’s landmass, before Nisa finally became Dreaming Twilight and moved instead to reside in a plot in Ontario due to funding.

Crim is/was the second of the strongest pillars of the Dreaming Twilight. Now another of the trees of the sacred grove has lost its leaves, reminding us of how tightly Life and Death are interwoven.

Crim leaves behind a loving girlfriend, Karla Voilpa (KariaKae Karu), the remaining members of the Dreaming Twilight and Arashiryuu Yashiro groups, his real life friends and relatives… and countless members of the many communities he was part of. He was a chosen brother of myself and Oscelot Halaan. He joins his former partner Lacy Musketeer.

He will be missed. He is loved. He is gone… Yet he now blows in the wind, creeps in the vines, falls from the sky in raindrops, dances in the tides of the sea, and warms us in our hearths.

Our thoughts are with all his loved ones. The Dreaming Twilight will continue. The memories will be maintained.

Please contact Amehana Arashi (Amehana Ishtari), Oscelot Halaan, and KariaKae Karu for more info.

There will be an in-world memorial at the Dreaming Twilight plot

Memorial Posting: Faith Lindgren-Brown, editor

It is with sorrow that I must announce the passing of FAITH CARLIN-MARIE LINDGREN (AKA LINDGREN-BROWN, editing surname) at 10:20 this morning. Faith was engaged in a very long battle with Diabetes. She was editor for the second edition of Dragon Shaman: Taming the BlowingWind, Dragon Shaman: The Smoky Mirror, and Selkies' Skins: Castle and Well. She was to be editor for Dragon Shaman's third book and Selkies' Skins: Temple and Skinquest although life had slowed the production of the manuscripts and then her eyesight began to deteriorate.

She will be sorely missed, and will always remain now an editor in memoriam with us. She is at least with Jan (Marantha D. Jennelle) now and they finally get to meet in the afterlife. I expect that now I'll have two more disembodied friends whispering in my ears and poking me while I work.

I will always remember her as the thin blonde that the kids and I used to visit or go visit often when we lived in Weed, telling wild stories about her life's adventures and being eager to read over my progress and be the second set of eyes to make sure things were correct and going across as intended in my writing.

I do not know yet when any services will be. I will see about having the main website information on Faith updated at some point when I can without feeling drained.

The passing of Jan Parupia AKA Marantha D Jenelle

I have already made this announcement in other places, but it must be made here as well. My friend and one of my authors, Jan Parupia AKA Marantha Dreamweaver Jenelle is now gone. She passed October 8th of 2013, although I do not know what of. The last I had talked to her, she stated that the city water was poisoning her. If you live in Gladewater, TX it might behoove you to have water filters. She had numerous other health problems that I am aware of, so it is my thoughts that it was most likely a combination of all of them.

Marantha was a prolific author and artist, and loved to chat. She loved her service animals during the time that she had each of them and greatly loved her grandchild despite not being able to see her. This I know was her greatest regret. It is not the regrets that define a person though. It is their accomplishments. Despite being bi-polar she harnessed that and used it as fuel for her creativity. I will miss her long chats.

Among her works are "The Partner," "Homeward Bound," "Irony," and her in progress work "The Ihmayran Chronicles Trilogy." I do have the latest progress that she had uploaded to her file storage, so it is in the work lineup to give the final editing pass. She wanted it published even if it was after her death, and out there for her granddaughter...so I plan to honor that.

None of this feels real to me. I expect the phone to ring and have Jan's voice come out asking how I am and eagerly launching into reading to me from the latest section she'd worked on, or asking how the kids are doing. She's not going to get to meet Faith face-to-face, or give me the "pixie hugs" (because I'm tiny and breakable) that we had looked forward to.

You will be missed Jan, but I'll make sure that your memory goes on.

Although the second one states that she was a member of the North Loop Church of Christ, she considered herself VEHEMENTLY Pagan...as anyone that talked to her for long often found out.
